Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al Nassr remains unclear after talks over a new contract were suspended.
The Portuguese legend was expected to sign a new two-year deal but another poor season has raised doubts over his future at Al Nassr.
Despite his consistent scoring form, Ronaldo has failed to secure a silverware for Al Nassr and talk of a move to another club in Saudi Arabia has been growing.
Rival rivals Al Hilal, who have qualified for the Club World Cup, have emerged as a possible destination for the Portuguese star.
Spanish outlet Marca say Al Nassr’s continued failures have led Ronaldo to question whether he should remain at the club.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored 33 goals in 39 appearances this season but his side have slipped to fourth in the league after a 3-2 defeat to leaders Al Ittihad on Wednesday.
That meant they were virtually out of the title race and the 40-year-old stormed off the pitch in a huff, which was not well received by the club’s executives.
Al-Nassr were also surprisingly eliminated in the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup last week after losing to Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.
